C ompletely pedestrianized, the historic center winds through stone streets that touch the water and characteristic structures that are almost reminiscent of a medieval village, much loved by tourists.
In the center of the town there is the main square, a real living room overlooking the lake, from which boats depart for the Island of San Giulio: which is just 400 meters from the shore.
The island is dominated by the former seminary building, built in 1844 on the ruins of the castle. The seminary today houses the convent of cloistered Benedictine nuns Abbazia Mater Ecclesiae .
